It is very beneficial to use deep breathing exercises when you feel a panic attack beginning. Always breathe slowly through your nose, counting to five as you do, and make sure that your stomach rises. Then, count slowly for five seconds as you breath out of your mouth. Count the number of breathings until you reach ten, as you should start to feel better then.
You can try to fend off panic attacks by joining in community activities. Work with both ends of the spectrum – kids and the elderly – to get yourself accustomed to everything. These groups can remind you how great you are and how lucky you are to be alive! The feelings that you are having during your panic attack will not harm you. They may be very unpleasant but try to understand they cannot harm you, only your actions can. If you feel like you have to get away and run and do not take that action, then this will help you defeat the feelings. Take control of your body and remember your actions are what hurts you. If you feel an onset of panic or severe anxiety looming ahead, you must force yourself to determine whether the situation poses an actual threat to your health and well-being. Will someone cause you harm? Most likely the answer to those questions is no, so you can relax and allow the fear to leave your body.
When having a panic attack, a mistake lots of people make is to allow the episode to take over their whole body. Don’t fight the feelings you’re having, try to adapt to them and be at one with them. Just pretend that the negative feelings are floating around your body rather than coursing through it. Most importantly, make sure to take control of your breathing. Breathe deeply and evenly, and do your best to regain your calm. This adrenaline will eventually burn off and you may feel more relaxed.
One bad choice you can make in the midst of a panic attack is letting the symptoms overwhelm you. Instead of struggling against the symptoms, simply allow them to run their course. Redirect the feelings of panic in your mind’s eye to have them flow past you instead of attacking you. Focus on controlling your breath above all else. Breath slowly and relax yourself as much as possible. Soon, the adrenaline will taper off and you’ll feel more relaxed.
There are many different reasons a person may suffer from panic attacks. By joining a group of people with the same problems as you, you will learn new ways to deal with them. Listen to music as soon as you feel the feeling of panic so that you divert your attention to the lyrics or beat. Put on some soothing songs and focus on the words and the melody. By paying attention to the music and not your symptoms, you will more easily be able to relax and avoid panic.
Try to get a professional diagnosis of your condition so that you can be closer to finding a cure. There are a lot of different reasons that people develop anxiety issues, the ways people deal with them will be completely different. See a professional when your panic attacks get out of hand. Many people who suffer from panic attacks find comfort and reassurance in a support group. These self-help groups allow you to share your fears and concerns with others who can completely empathize with your feelings and help you find ways to effectively deal with the attacks. Joining a support group allows you to help yourself and help others simultaneously. Properly getting your anxiety condition diagnosed is essential in working out the right treatment plan. There are many different causes of unchecked anxiety, which can make it difficult to find the right treatment protocol. If you are having panic attacks that are causing discomfort, or interfering with your life, you should obtain professional help. This is a complete lie. Panic attacks are a true disorder, one which several people suffer from. You can learn to help by first acknowledging the reality of this condition, and then simply listening to your loved one. By showing empathy, you may be able to control a panic attack or even avoid it entirely.

Surround yourself with those who are happy and positive, this will help you get through times that are tough. Keep your family members close and socialize with your trusted friends frequently!
